What we collect, and what we never do with it.
Field Current is customer-operations software used by local service businesses. This policy covers prospects who contact us, people who request service from a business, and members who use the product.

Three relationships, three kinds of data
Field Current is used by a local service business, referred to here as “the business.” A prospect can contact Field Current directly about a demo or onboarding. When a homeowner submits a service request, the business decides what is collected and why, and Field Current processes it on their instructions. When a member of the business signs in to the dashboard, Field Current holds that account data directly.
What a prospect gives us
A demo or onboarding request can include a name, business name, work email, phone number, website, plan of interest, and whether the person wants a demonstration or onboarding conversation. Field Current uses those details to review fit and follow up about the request. Submitting the form does not create a member account, start billing, or activate customer communication.
What a homeowner gives us
Only what the request form asks for, and only what the homeowner types into it:
- Name, phone number, and email address, if provided
- The service address where the work would happen
- The type of service requested and a description of the problem
- How urgent it is, and any preferred times
- Whether consent to receive text messages was given
After that, we hold the text messages exchanged about the request, along with the time each was sent and whether the carrier delivered it. We do not buy contact information, and we do not add anyone to a list because they appeared somewhere else.
What it is used for
Answering the request and getting a visit on the calendar. That means acknowledging the request, asking any follow-up questions the business needs answered, offering appointment times the business actually has open, and applying the business’s booking and approval rules. Nothing more.
We do not use this information for advertising, we do not build profiles for marketing, and we do not sell personal information.
Text messages
Consent to receive texts is a separate, optional checkbox on the request form. It is unchecked by default, and the request is handled whether or not it is checked. Messages relate only to the request the homeowner submitted.
Reply STOP to any message to stop them. The opt-out takes effect immediately, is recorded against that phone number, and no further messages are sent to it. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies with the conversation.
Mobile opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Phone numbers and consent records are used solely to deliver messages about the request, and are shared only with the messaging carrier that transmits them.
Who else touches the data
Only the vendors required to run the service, and only for that purpose:
- Supabase, which hosts the database and member sign-in
- Twilio, which transmits and receives the text messages
- Vercel, which hosts the application
- Stripe, which processes subscription payments for member businesses. Stripe does not receive homeowner data
Each business’s data is isolated from every other business’s at the database level. A member of one business cannot read another business’s leads or conversations.
How long it is kept
Requests, appointments, and message history are kept for as long as the business keeps its account, because they are that business’s record of what was said and done on its behalf. An opt-out record is kept even if the underlying request is removed, since forgetting it would mean texting someone who asked us not to.
Prospect requests are kept as long as needed to respond, maintain a record of the business relationship, and meet legal or security obligations. A prospect can ask us to correct or delete their details using the privacy contact below.
Member accounts
For a member who signs in, we hold an email address, sign-in credentials managed by our authentication provider, the business they belong to, and their activity in the dashboard. Passwords are never stored in readable form and are not visible to us.
Your choices
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. To see, correct, or delete the details attached to a service request, contact the business you contacted, or write to us at hello@field-current.com and we will route the request to them and assist.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access is scoped so that each business reaches only its own records, and messages sent on a business’s behalf are gated by consent and the automation or approval rules that business controls. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes materially, the revision date above changes with it. Questions go to hello@field-current.com. Our Terms of Service cover the rest of the relationship.
